What happens to the details you give us, in plain terms.
who holds it
Who we are
This site belongs to The Antiquary, 72-78 St Stephen Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh EH3 5AQ, operated by Anstrod Limited. If you have a question about anything on this page, email info@theantiquarybar.co.uk or ring 0131 225 2858.
When you request a table
The booking form asks for your name, email address and phone number, the date and time you want, how many of you there are, the occasion, and anything else you want the kitchen or the bar to know. We reply by email to confirm your table. We ask for these because we cannot hold a table or come back to you without a way of reaching you.
We use that information to answer your request and to have the table ready. Under data protection law our basis for this is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you. It is not marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.
Your request is delivered by our hosting provider, Netlify, which passes it to us by email. It is kept in the pub's email while the booking is live and in case of a query afterwards, and we clear those emails out roughly every two weeks. It is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone other than the people who run the pub.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and there is nothing here that tracks you between visits. There is no analytics, no advertising and no social media pixel. That is why you are not being asked to accept anything.
The two places something is loaded from elsewhere
The map on the Find us page comes from Google, and loading it lets Google see your device's address and set its own cookies. So it does not load until you press the button asking for it. If you would rather not, the walking directions beside it get you here just as well.
The fixture lists on the Sports page are fetched by your browser from ESPN's public feed when you open that page, which means ESPN can see your device's address. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing about you is sent to them.
What our host records
Netlify keeps ordinary server logs, including the address your device connects from, so the site can be delivered and kept secure. We do not use those logs to build any picture of you.
What you can ask for
You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email info@theantiquarybar.co.uk and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
